His research interests are in quantifying the mechanical behaviour of subsurface rock or soil using computational methods. He has extensive research experience in both geomechanics and carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) projects. He has contributed significantly to various European and Norwegian research projects on CCS as a project coordinator and work package leader. He is the author or co-author of more than 20 scientific peer-reviewed papers and has supervised PhD students at a university in Oslo.
