This medium-sized update introduces four new tools designed to expand workflows and improve productivity, alongside a range of enhancements to existing functionality for better performance and user experience.

The biggest news is the release of the Horizontal well planner tool, that offers a streamlined and highly interactive method to plan multi lateral horizontal wells.

• The Horizontal well planner allows the user to build multi-lateral well configurations in multiple landing zones.

• The well configurations can be built using the interactive approach digitizing the wells using a map view and a gun barrel view.

• The tool also allows for specifying the well configurations by pasting existing well heel and toe coordinates into the tool.

Another highly anticipated tool that is introduced in toolbox 21.2 is the Convert image to surface. This tool allows extraction and conversion of an imported and georeferenced image into a Petrel surface object.

By the help of available filtering options, users can generate surfaces from complex images, including fault polygons, seismic survey areas, any sort of annotations, etc. The tool can detect colours with various colour palettes including RGB, CMYK and HSV.
